Giant Schnauzer Fun Day Photos
Saturday, December 11th, 2010, Deer Creek hosted Valley of the Sun’s 5th Annual Giant Schnauzer Fun Day. We had a wonderful turn out of about 50 humans and 35 Giant Schnauzers and honorary Schnauzers. Many previously adopted Giants came with their adoptive parents to join in the festivities. There were several rescues looking for new homes that enjoyed mingling with the visitors.

There were demonstrations of agility, nose work-searching, and training techniques. There was music by our fabulous JD, KFYI’s Jim Sharp, who is a huge supporter of the rescue. Many visitors went home with a variety of door prizes. A number of vendors supported the event and offered a variety of items for sale. There were custom made T-shirts, laser cut steel decorator items, jewelry, dog chew toys, and hand knitted baby items to mention a few. The doggy hotdog eating contest was very popular and fun for everyone. Visitors enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers, BBQ beef sandwiches with sides for lunch. Many visitors supported VSGSR by bidding in the silent auction fund raiser. Everyone had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, both two and four legged. Over all it was a wonderful day!
